| Ok... I had some Polished & Ported manifolds for sale that I'd had done by SGP Racing. Kyle had done a great job on them! But I'm not building my motor so I posted them up for sale as I do not need them any more. I had a great deal of photos showing all the ports and almost all of the ported surfaces. They cost me over $500 to have done. I was asking $400 obo shipped. No bites... So I lowered it to $350 obo shipped. No bites initially... then a local guy called, said he was from Suffolk (about a 30-45 minute drive) and wanted the manifolds tonight, would give me $300 cash. I said ok sure, I can deal with that. Guy showed up, looked them over, was a touch disappointed they weren't ported all the way through, but I showed him they were gasket matched and they were rather clean where the needed to be. Supposedly my buddy who was hear noted a weld on the back side of the turbo flange and pointed it out to him. My buddy says he only "noted" it, but didn't comment at all about it. The guy seemed content and went on his way. A week later... I get a call from the guy saying they're cracked... !?!?! I'm like "what? where?". He said he didn't know yet, as they were still at the shop, but had been called and told they were cracked... a hairline crack, but a crack none-the-less. At first he told me he'd had them taken to a shop "to be" smoothed out a little more, but that they hadn't actually touched them... I felt kinda bad, and said I'd call Kyle and check into it. I call Kyle at SGP how is more than helpful in the matter. We talk it over and he's got no clue how they could be cracked. He looked them over personally and I had some dcent photos of them showing they weren't cracked... Asked if I could call back for clarification on the location. So I called back and asked... He said he didn't know exactly but that they had started to sand blast them to smooth them out and they crack became very apparent! I told him to "bring them by one night, I'll take some photos, and get in touch with Kyle to see what he could do". That is VERBATIM what I said. I told him to "bring them by one night, I'll take some photos, and get in touch with Kyle to see what he could do" . Well I called Kyle back and told him what he'd said, that they'd sand blasted the manifolds. He stated right away that's why it had torn up. Initially we thought it was around one of the stud holes, but after a later call, I found out it was indeed on the top of the turbo flange... Kyle said that they had welded that point, and that if the buyer would pay shipping to and from, he'd re-weld and re-port them and smooth it back out. I told him I'd relay that, as at this point Kyle wasn't willing to refund any money as the buyer had taken them to a shop to have work done, and they're worthless to me for the same reason. Well I didn't hear from him for a few days, but then he called me this past weekend saying he wanted to know what was up. I had a bad connection, but tried to relay that Kyle had said he'd reweld and report if he paid the shipping... apparently that didn't get through. Now we're back at present... Guy calls me up and asks what's up. I more or less relayed the above... that Kyle stated he'd re-weld, re-port, and smooth the spot at his shipping cost, as the guy had taken them to another shop and had them worked on... he wasn't happy with that. I told him that he'd decided to take them to a third party and have addition work done, and that they were no longer in the condition I sold them... They were perfectly fine at the time of purchase. I have pictures showing those areas to prove it. He started to get angry stating that the reweld wasn't an option and he wanted to bring them back... I told him that that really wasn't an option for me as they're now worthless to me and I don't have the money to refund anyway. At this point the guy is irrate. I'm like "look, you took them to a shop and had them SAND BLASTED. As soon as the shop hit the weld with the SAND BLAST BEED it tore the weld up... they would have been fine if you hadn't had them reworked." At this point he starts telling me I told him I'd refund his money. "AT NO POINT DID I STATE I'D REFUND YOUR MONEY". I tried to explain, "I had said to bring them by, I would take pictures, and get in touch with Kyle and see what could be done, at NO point did I say I'd give you a refund". Now he starts going into a tyraid saying how he knew this was what was going to happen and he thought I'd be a bigger man about this... WTF does he want me to do? He took them to a shop, he had them sand blasted, and the shop cracked them... what am I supposed to do? I tried to explain that the reweld option was pretty much the only option... at this point he starts more or less yelling at me how I'm being a baby about this, and that its going to get back around to me... I'm thinking, WTF, are you threatening me? And then the asshole hangs up on me. I'm like WTF? So I call him back, trying to get things straight, and he starts yelling at me again... I'm like "that was rather rude, I'm trying to work this out and you hang up on me", and he's like "I'm being rude?!? You're being the baby about this! Next time you'll see me you'll know what's up!" and he hangs up again... WTF is wrong with people in this world? This asshole knows where I live and is threatening me, and I'm taking it as a threat to me, my family, and my possesions. If I have ANY ISSUES, with ANYTHING in relation to my property or family, I'm going after this guy. I can't believe he would threaten me over $300 manifolds he had a shop mess up!?! Sorry for ranting but I'm about friggin livid... this is the last thing I needed. I cut this guy a deal, met with him on short notice, and gave him a viable option, and now he threatens me. =( What is the world coming to. And Bobby (not ZweetdreamZ) is you're reading this, you better not dare come near me or my family with any for of hostility. I gave you an option, and it was a fair one. If you feel I've slighted you I'm sorry, but I'm fairly certain public opinion will side with me on this one. The manifolds were in perfect condition when you bought them. I have photos from less than 48 hours prior that shows NO CRACKS. I was considerate and tried to work something out for you. Normally used parts are WHERE IS / AS IS. I guess I should have expressed that more clearly, but I thought you'd have known that. Anyway, I'll keep the forum updated, and please let me know what you all this of these shenanegans. I can't believe this world. Learn from my mistakes, NEVER SELL PARTS TO A LOCAL GUY YOU DON'T KNOW. I know nothing about this guy other than his phone number and what area of Tidewater he roughly lives in. Man talk about a nightmare. I mean its like buying anything else. If you sell someone something, and they break it by fucking with it, would you take it back? I mean its like buying a used car and then destroying the engine, and saying there was something wrong to begin with... sure, yeah right. Argh, I'm just so pissed this asshole threatened me... Anyway, I figured I'd post and let the community know before something happened... whether it be his posting (which I would prefer he did over anything else) or taking more drastic measures, which I pray he doesn't. I've got some more car work to do, and I need to get my mind off this, but its hard when you have a family and posessions. Night people.
